- 4H LEAD is a hard and light valued lead. Great for light initial sketching lines and for those subtle value gradations. As a harder lead it holds a sharper point for longer periods.
- HB LEAD is a medium hard/soft lead, typically the go to hardness for the majority of drawing and drafting needs. The value is about the same as your average #2 yellow pencil. Medium darkness, medium smear/smudge factor.
- 5B LEAD is a soft, specialty use lead. Due to it's high graphite content (and less clay) it is fragile and easily breaks, but is worth the head ache for it's rich and dark lines.
